EMMA IS Jill de Mol

Account manager for Wallonia, Luxembourg and France
  

Jill built her career in the world of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before making the leap to the manufacturing side of the industry. Her fluency in both French and Dutch, combined with extensive product knowledge, makes her perfectly suited for this new role. 
  

In France, Luxembourg and southern Belgium, EMMA Safety Footwear is still relatively unknown. To rectify this, we appointed a specialist to open up this market in June 2025; Jill de Mol. “A headhunter I know sent me the job advert. I’d been thinking about moving to a manufacturer for two years, so this was the perfect opportunity!  I’ve known EMMA for years and have always admired the quality and comfort of the products. In addition, I prefer working with a compact product range, as it keeps things focused.”  Most customers in her work area speak French, but that's no problem for Jill. "I was born in Brussels, right on the border of Flanders and Wallonia. That's a bonus, as I'm fluent in both Dutch and French." These skills are also an everyday advantage in her private life. “My partner and I love travelling, often taking city breaks to places like Rome or London. Being able to speak multiple languages always comes in handy!”  
  

Breaking into a new region
In her new role, Jill visits dealers, wholesalers and end users to introduce them to EMMA’s safety footwear. She reviews sales figures, presents products, and offers testing opportunities.  Another interesting part of her job is negotiating prices and delivery terms.  “I love the challenge of breaking into a new region and promoting EMMA safety footwear. From my past experience, I know over 100 end users here, but fewer than 5% of the dealers stock EMMA. That’s a huge opportunity for EMMA. Being personally able to exploit this opportunity here from scratch is both exciting and incredibly interesting.”

PPE Expertise
Jill’s background includes a successful career in PPE. "I stumbled into it by chance when I was working for an office supplies company that had PPE as a small part of the range.  As safety became more important, the company hired a PPE specialist. I found that role so interesting that I started learning more about it myself.” Over the years, Jill advised companies on PPE usage, sold related products, and trained as a certified prevention advisor. “I know the safety laws, regulations, materials, risks and standards inside out, knowledge that I can now use at EMMA. Thanks to my experience, I can match safety, comfort, and even style preferences to the right footwear. That's incredibly useful in my new role.”

Engaged!
Work isn’t the only exciting change in Jill’s life.  “Last year my partner proposed at home, completely out of the blue. We both share a love of gastronomy, so we often go out to eat, especially since he once owned a restaurant.” That made it even more of a surprise when he simply proposed at home.”  Jill is looking forward to blending her life with her fiancé, 14-year-old stepson, and 8-year-old daughter into one family.  “On our weekly Sunday walks, we often daydream about our big day.”
