Emma Safety Footwear is extending its certificate for level 3 of the Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship.

Since 1 April 2014 we have been certified for Social Entrepreneurship. The Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship certification shows that Emma Safety Footwear does not only provide support for people in a vulnerable position in the labour market through its work, but that it integrates them into its own business management as well.

Why a Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship?

To us, Social Entrepreneurship is only normal: people with difficulties to access the labour market are integrated into the workforce. The Government is working on various measures and laws to increase the participation of vulnerable groups in society in the labour market. The Government, organisations and companies together create opportunities for a sustainable integration of these groups. In order to promote Social Entrepreneurship, TNO, together with the Dutch Social Entrepreneurship Foundation, Start Foundation and other (SME) organisations in the field, have developed the Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship certification. Over the past years, this has become a national standard for Social Entrepreneurship.

What is the Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship?

The Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship is a certification for organisations offering employment to people who have difficulties to access the labour market. The Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship is a recognition for organisations that make an above-average social effort. Participation offers advantages for all. More organisations create opportunities for people with difficulties to access the labour market, and the social identity of the participating organisation becomes visible to employees, principals, suppliers and customers.

How does the Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship work?

The Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship has four levels: an applicant status and three levels. What is measured is the extent to which organisations score above average compared to other organisations when it comes to offering sustainable employment for people in a vulnerable position in the labour market. In addition, insight is provided into the performance of suppliers and cooperation partners.
